This questions is about how to handle the payroll tax deposits already made on a payroll check that now has to be voided & reissued because it was lost. If we void the check thru payroll & re-issue it, those same wages are going to come up for a tax deposit again, even though they have already been paid. How do you handle that??

Clearing $0 invoices showing in AP Report
I have several $0 total invoices open in AP. They were entered as code adjustment invoices ($0 total) recoding from one segment Project to another. The invoices do not show when using Manual Check (or even Select AP) entry as any invoice to select ($0 check for $0 invoice). I need to clear these ASAP (fiscal yr end). Will a journal entry do the trick (offset AP code to cash - which will $0 out between the projects)? Thanks!
Any advice for a fiscal year end change in MIP?
We will be changing our fiscal year end from 2/28 (or 29) to 3/31 in the Spring. If anyone has experience with implementing a FYE change in MIP Fund Accounting, I'd appreciate a moment of your time to chat.

Correcting Payroll Distributions
Is there a way to correct an employee's distribution through the payroll module without having to do a JV? I can do those sorts of corrections through their respective modules (a/p coding in the a/p invoice entry; cash receipt coding in the cash receipts screen etc). Just wondering if anyone has found a way to correct distribution coding in the payroll module so that it is tied to the employee's record.
The Abila Auto Updater and the Red Expiration Notice
For users that are currently on version 2014.0 or higher, you should now have access to the Abila Auto Update program on your server. This program allows you to check for available updates and download them, as well as set up email notifications when updates are available, downloaded or installed, or schedule automatic checks for updates. This program is the most convenient method of accessing your update downloads.
When you access the Abila Auto Update program, if you should notice a red-dot signifying an expired support contract, this notice means that you will not be able to download that specific update, as downloading requires a current support contract. However, the Auto Update program is used to download multiple update files. As such, just because you see an expiration notice, does not necessarily mean your contract is expired. For example, you may see an update available and ready-to-download for the MIP Fund Accounting software but also show a download for the MIP Human Resources (HR) Management module that shows expired. Since the program simply looks for a current support contract for the product showing an available update, you may show an expired contract if you do not own the HR module and, as such, would not have a support contract for it. To avoid this, you can uninstall the Auto Update check for HR updates by going to your Windows Control Program > Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features) and remove the Abila.AAU.HR program.
If you are showing an expired contract notice on a product for which you know you have a current support contract, we suggest uninstalling the Abila Auto Update program completely from your server (again through Add/Remove Programs) and then installing again using the MIP Share folder (MIP Share > Setup > SubInstalls > click on the AAU.msi installer file.) If after re-installing, you still show an expired contract, please contact the Support Department at 1(800) 945-3278 for further trouble-shooting.
Keep in mind that if there is an issue downloading, you can always get the latest version installation files from our Knowledgebase, provided you have current support contract. We hope the Abila Auto Update can simplify your updating process.

Need help getting your system running after a disaster?
It seems like natural (and unnatural) disasters are always in the news. Obviously, the most important thing to focus on in preparation for, or in response to, a disaster is your safety and the safety of others. You will have much bigger things to worry about than backing up your data.
That’s why I highly encourage you to make sure your organization routinely backs up critical data with offsite storage (either physically offsite or in the cloud) so that you won’t need to worry about it if and when disaster strikes. If you’re not sure, find out.
I’d also like to make you aware that if your organization suffers infrastructure damage and is not able to access your Fund Accounting system, Abila will be happy to host your Fund Accounting system for you, at no charge, until you can get your infrastructure operational again. This is just one of the many benefits of your Abila Business Care plan. For more information, see http://www.abila.com/support/emergency-assistance
It is our hope that you and your organization will never be affected by a disaster and will not need our help getting your operations going again. However, please know that we are here for you if you need us.
Sincerely,
Scott Springer

Payroll Error
We are receiving an error message during the emailing process of direct deposit vouchers to employees. We complete this process in three steps: hourly, salary, students. This is the second payroll in a row that I have received this error message and it is frustrating because I have been unable to find away to resend unsent emails. So what happens is that I send the hourly payroll (count of 22) with no problem. I go on to salary, and at around the 80 count mark I get the error message that the emails are not being sent. I move on to the students, and for this payroll (did not happen on 8/31...probably because there were less than 20) it happened around the 80 count mark. Our IT department checked our email server and there was not a service interruption on either day this has happened. The error message is: "SmtpException Failure sending mail. Unable to read data from the transport connection: net_io_connectionclosed." Has anyone else experienced this? I would like to get this resolved because it's a hassle to deal with.
Thanks,
Dean Meadows

Accounts Payable Product Feedback Sessions
Because you are a valued Abila MIP customer, we would like to invite your organization to participate in our upcoming product research September 28 - October 2. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback directly to the Research & Development team - to make sure we hit the mark on our products and features.
- This is a one-on-one session that is held online (using WebEx and your phone) to take a look at new design ideas for Accounts Payable in MIP Advance.
- The session will last less than an hour (with multiple times available), and there will be a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card for participating.
- We are looking for participants that are currently using the AP module in MIP to create and pay invoices and/or voiding checks. You do NOT need to be a MIP Advance customer in order to participate. We would love to get feedback on our new ideas from anyone who is using what we have in MIP today.
- If you would like to directly impact the direction of your Abila product, please reply to this post or send an email to usability@abila.com.
Thanks so much for your time and continued support!

Attaching Documents - Scanners, Data Storage
We are interested in finding out what scanners have been most successful to use for attachments being scanned into the accounting modules?
Also We have three people entering accounts payable information at the same time. Is it recommended or most efficient for each of them to have their own scanner or is it more efficient and cost effective to have one scanner for all three people?
Are there any recommended ways to reduce the data storage space of the attachments?
Any other suggestions?

HR Report Writer Pivot Grid with Parameters
Hi,
I'm trying to write a pivot grid report with dynamic paramters (the user would need to input the parameter dates).
I'm having two issues:
1) the instructions say to not give the report a data source. In doing that when I try to run from the HR Reports menu I get an error that says it needs a data adapter. I can run from report writer but not from the menu and get my pivoted data.
2) I can add paramters in the sqlDataSource, but they don't appear to be available to the user who is running the report.
If there is anyone who has written a pivot report and may have the answer to my questions please contact me at:
Thanks,
Melissa Das
